Wanting to give back to our big 5th grade buddies who made us holiday cards, we made them Happy New Year Cards. We took 3 squares and cut them into various size circles--big, medium, and small. They filled our bucket, so we certainly wanted to fill their buckets back. Later in the week, we so enjoyed making our snowman, snowgirl, snowcowboy, snowtomboy, etc. We made our own. Come see them decorating our cabinet doors.
Look at our STEM tubs. For the past three weeks, we had been building containers to hold our golf balls. Kids were so stoked to hold their creation as they walk from door to door. On Friday, one child made a container to hold 4 golf balls. Look at this! This inspired another pair to make a container to hold 2. One of the best things coming out from these STEM tubs activities is the peer inspiration and interaction. Students learn so richly from other students. And in turn student learning benefits greatly from when they can teach and help other students.
