To finish our celebration of Presidents’ holidays, we voted for who would make the best president if both Washington and Lincoln were alive today! We read two books about the former presidents before they were presidents! The General’s Dog and Abe Lincoln, The Boy Who loved books. Both books to real life events and facts about the men and showed their early characteristics about what made them great leaders.
We voted anonymously, we wrote why on the ballot, and then we tallied. With a overwhelming difference...it was George Washington. Somehow the true story of General Washington returning the enemy’s General Howe’s lost dog won Room 20 over. We also learned about Lincoln, who believed everything he needed to know could be found in books! These are all great qualities in a true leaders.
We hoped you enjoyed our mythical dragon art. Our HSC ran smartart program came to direct us in our dragon art. We used oil pastels and traced on the flowing line. Then we added more strokes and did some rubbings to make our dragon come alive.
