Look how super we are! We have our disguise to mark our super sentence. We say super sentences rises above boring sentences like “I see a dog.” or “The boy walks to school.” We want to empower it with the 5 Parts of Speech (yes, we have the chant to go with it):
Did your kids come home Friday inspired by their 2nd grade friends? We visited the 2nd grade classes. They had just finished their projects about simple machines. We strived to be helpful and came up with several questions for our 2nd grade inventors. The 2nd grade students did wonderful showing and explaining their simple machines.
We continued our learning of subtraction. We played 5-in-a-Row subtraction. Students took two dice (one dice with numerals 7-12 and a second dice with dots 1-6). Students had fun playing in table groups of 4 and later against a partner.
Look at our creations for the week. I enjoying snapping pictures during the week. I took a quick shot of the popsicle tub knowing they had written my name, but did not realize it until later the kids had also spelled several words that were written “around the room.” The students had written “clock” “pie.” Look at how creative they were to dot the i in pie.
