First we think about ways to be kind. Last year, I pre-wrote ideas on the cards. This year I had the kids brainstorm ways and take ownership of the kindness deeds. Then we wrote it on our daily “presents” and place it in our December calendar.
Kids who do the day’s kind deed put their thumbprint onto the chart. At the end of the day, we count how many thumbprints we have, representing how many kids reached the day’s goal. The chart uses math skills of: graphing, counting, interpreting, and analyzing all at once!
Look who gets to wear the jingle necklace of kindness. The one who wears the jingle necklace makes the jingle noise--we can hear kindness coming!
