Using standard units, we learned about inches. We used an “inch worm” to measure our feet size. We used a tape measurer to measure our body parts. We found out who shortest friends are and who the tallest kid is in our class!
Then we worked with centimeters. We played a fun measurement game using a 100 centimeter ruler (1 meter yard stick), number cube, and hot wheel car. We also talked about how the meter units are using base 10: 100 centimeter = 1 meter; 1,000 meters = 1 km. Looks like the international and scientific worlds love “my friend 10.”
