Beginning of the year, every child needs...

  • 1-inch Binder for Poetry Folder--As part of our language arts program, we will be reading many poems. Every child needs an individual binder for our Poetry collection. Since the desks have limited space, a 1” binder can be of the most use. Please avoid binders 3-inch and larger and the clothed binders with extra gadgets (like Velcro, netting, and extra compartments). At the end of the school year they will have a wonderful poetry collection to keep.
  • Highlighters—1 yellow marker and 1 other color (like blue, pink, or green). We use these to highlight word wall words and word chunks in the poems. (optional: a pouch of some sort to keep the highlighters with the folder)
  • $10 contribution for supplies and special events—Thank you.

  • used technology--educational games, leapster, ipod, ipad, scanner/printer, laptop computer

TECHNOLOGY

Are  you ready to upgrade your technology, but wonder what to do with your old technology??? We can provide a new and loving home for it--your child's classroom!!! The teacher and/or kids would love to work with your used device. It may be your old device, but to us, it's a new technology serving as a learning tool! Thank you.
  • scanner printer
  • digital camera
  • leapster console and learning games
  • any learning electronic games

***Especially in need of LAPTOP COMPUTER!!! We need a laptop computer to run our smartboard.***

Also, are you tech savy??? Consider being the classroom's personal IT parent, there's a lot of things here or there that someone with some tech knowledge can help us bridge (or fix) technology into the 21st century classroom.

THANK YOU!!!

No Wheelie Backpacks!

No wheelie backpacks or backpacks with wheels. Backpacks will be placed in outside tubs and there are no room for them in the classroom. They rarely stand up straight and lots of tripping happens when the backpacks roll in at the end of the day. Regular backpack will do--really, the kids just need a pack to hold homework folder, reading books later in the year, and maybe jacket/sweater and lunch bag. Thank you!
